Welcome to Swakane Winery
We are a family owned boutique winery located in
Central Washington just north of Wenatchee.
What does boutique winery really mean you may ask??
Well in our situation it means we are a husband and wife team who pretty much do everything from grow, prune and pick the grapes to crush and then make the wine and finally put it in the bottle for you and I to enjoy.
We produce what we sell and only make small lots of all our wines, 750 cases per year to be precise.
And that's why you won't find any of our wines on the shelves of a grocery store in a big city..
Handcrafted wine is what we make.
What do we mean by handcrafted you may ask??
Well to us it means you will find me and my husband hand picking, hand sorting, and then hand forking or bucketing a few thousand pounds of grapes to a crusher every harvest season.
And then you guessed it when its time to press the wine we use a hand cranking press followed by time in barrels and tanks under the close watch of Mikes capable hands. Next we will bottle, cork and label each bottle.
Yep!! by hand.
Each grape from vine to bottle will pass through both of our hands at least a handful (HaHa!!) of times
before you and I can fill our glass and enjoy,
so savor every sip because it was quite the journey that grape took before landing in our glass.
And that is what I know "Handcrafted wine" to be.

meet the family and see why we love what we do and how our wine goes from the vine to your glass.
